The Audience
This project was designed with the diverse visitors of the Humber Arboretum in mind, catering to a wide range of ages from young children to older adults. Individuals who enjoy outdoor activities and have a passion for exploring and learning about nature.
The Process
During a class trip to the arboretum, we identified issues and possible solutions. I created user personas, developed a style guide for sign designs, and updated the map with a new colour palette, strategically planning the future signage placements.
Purpose, Strategy, Style Guide & Redesigned Map
The Results
We improved the user experience of the signage system by addressing issues such as inadequate signage, inconsistent colours and outdated materials, while carefully considering the iconography, placement, and heights of the signage to ensure accessibility for everyone. We also selected suitable signage hardware and materials to further enhance the system, ensuring durability against the harsh weather conditions they would face.
